Finding identity gaps before they distort adoption
Anonymous sessions, account merges and device changes can quietly overstate growth.
A person can arrive anonymously on the web, register in an app and later return on another device. If those records never join, one customer appears to be several adopters. If they join too aggressively, several people may look like one.
Audit the transitions
Map every point where an identifier is created, replaced or connected. Test common paths with known accounts and keep expected outputs. Compare account totals with trusted operational sources rather than relying on analytics alone.
Measure confidence
No identity model is perfect. Report the share of activity that is anonymous, authenticated and successfully linked. That confidence layer helps stakeholders distinguish a genuine adoption shift from a change in match quality.
